kick of summer by planting some glorious sunflowers
Welcome to Kensington’s first Scarecrow competition.
It’s simple and free to enter. All you have to do is build a scarecrow, and let us know where it is. You can place your scarecrow in your front garden, on your balcony (as long as it is visible from the road). If you don’t have a place to put your scarecrow you can consider asking a neighbour, or contact us for a place.
The scarecrows will be judged by the public under the following categories:
• Most popular
• Best Junior Entry (under 13 years old)
• Best use of recycled materials
• Best traditional scarecrow
• Most creative scarecrow
• Best mini scarecrow
If you would like to give it a go, please follow these steps -
1. Make your scarecrow
2. Choose where you would like to display your scarecrow. If you don’t have a location we will organise somewhere for you to display your creation.
3. Register your scarecrow online below
4. A entry number will be allocated to you which will be displayed on your scarecrow.
All scarecrows have to be entered by Sunday 14 October.
Once your scarecrow has been entered, photos will be taken and the location of your scarecrow and your allocated number will be added to a Google map which will be published on this website.
Festival-goers are able to vote online on the weekend of the festival (20/21 October) on this website. A link will be created closer to the time.
Winners will be announced at Skinny Park on Sunday 21 October 2018 at 4.30pm.
Simply complete the details to enter. Please note that we use SurveyMonkey to compile competition entries, however, this is not a survey (just the easiest way for us to manage entries). Please also note that your details, including email address, will not be used by us for anything other than contacting you regarding the Scarecrow Competition, and will not be supplied to any other person or organisation.
